UTAC operates a global network of proving grounds and laboratories in France, the United Kingdom, Finland, Morocco, and the United States. In addition, service offices in China, Japan, South Korea, Italy, and Romania extend our reach. This international presence allows us to deliver advanced testing, development, and certification services for all vehicle types, anywhere in the world, and in every environment.

Europe

Linas-Montlhéry is a key testing hub for connected and autonomous vehicles, offering state-of-the-art laboratories and test tracks equipped with 5G and advanced technologies. In 2018, UTAC launched TEQMO, a cutting-edge innovation center dedicated to the development and type approval testing of connected and automated vehicles.

Mortefontaine hosts UTAC’s cutting-edge proving ground, dedicated to dynamic testing, ADAS development, and performance evaluation in a wide range of road conditions. Both Mortefontaine and Linas-Montlhéry are located close to Paris.

Situated between London and Birmingham, UTAC’s Millbrook site combines a comprehensive test centre with state-of-the-art laboratories. The proving ground includes more than 70 km of specialised test tracks, featuring high-speed circuits, off-road 4×4 trails, alpine gradients, and durability testing courses.

Located in the Northwest of England, UTAC’s Leyland facility provides advanced expertise in interior and commercial vehicle testing. Equipped with state-of-the-art technology, the site specialises in dynamic testing of components such as seats, doors, and airbags. Leyland also serves as a key centre for the evaluation of heavy and large vehicles.

UTAC has built a strong presence in northern Finland, offering over 100 km of outdoor and indoor test tracks dedicated to vehicle and tyre testing in extreme winter conditions. Its two main sites, Mellatracks and Ivalo Airport, are specifically designed to support a wide range of testing activities.

In 2024, UTAC expanded its presence in Italy with the launch of a new subsidiary, reinforcing its operations across the Alps. Key areas of focus include vehicle homologation (EU and UNECE standards), durability testing, and regulatory compliance. The Italian office is also ISO 17020 certified, confirming its status as an accredited inspection and testing body.

UTAC Romania SRL was established in 2024 in Bucharest (Sector 3) and focuses on technical testing and analysis under NACE code 7120.

Africa

In Morocco, UTAC has launched a new test centre in collaboration with FEV Group. Located just 90 minutes from Casablanca, the Morocco Mobility and Automotive Centre offers more than 30 km of test tracks, including high-speed circuits, durability and reliability courses, off-road trails, gradients, braking zones, and acoustic testing—all within a secure and confidential environment.

North America

In the U.S., UTAC operates two specialized laboratories located in Michigan and California, both fully dedicated to electromobility. The core focus lies in two areas: testing electric drive units (EDUs) and maintenance services.

Asia

In Asia, UTAC has three services offices in China, Japan and South Korea. UTAC supports its customers by offering all its activities to meet the growing demands of the Southeast Asian markets.
